I completed my undergraduate senior thesis work in the lab of Dr. Jeremy Ward at Middlebury College. The project – initially conceived my sophomore year with Dr. Ward – turned into a self-designed course of study I called Computational, Behavioral, and Genetic Approaches to Neurobiology, a major that included upper level courses in neuroscience, molecular biology, computer science, and math, and included four semesters of independent research. The culmination of that work became this thesis, an examination of gene expression in the hippocampus of the mei2.5 mouse model, developed previously by Dr. Ward.
